Asentamiento de relaves
Field notes, Udal Singh. Observing the settlement above the hot cave. My reprint site is the Tadpole pens.
I don't think the Tailings are very good at survival. I mean, they're better than us! They can digest the food and survive the heavy metals. But what I see here isn't the equivalent of a premodern Earth culture with a sophisticated survival package. It took the Inuit thousands of years to develop their seal hunting skills, and they got almost supernaturally good at it. By comparison, the Tailings seem...unpracticed.
Look at how much salvage they use. I don't think it's a preference, I think it's a dependence. They can't make basic tools like nets and cutters without it.
I think we're looking at the descendants of a sedentary, technological civilization. The children of a bunch of office workers and day trippers forced to learn wilderness survival from scratch.
Uh oh. Activity. I think they heard me talking. I've gotta move.
