Tailings Village

This structure is not of human origin. It is apparently a dwelling.

—Lightweight skeleton built from organic plastic structures similar to PVC —Covering of glued fish leather —Electroformed hatch salvaged from a larger manufactured structure —Occupant(s) significantly larger than a human

Assessment: portable shelter for a water-dwelling organism. The tool marks and relatively crude construction suggest limited survival skills. Perhaps a post-disaster culture. Leathermaking and gluing imply the presence of semiskilled artisans.

Caution. There has been no publicly acknowledged first contact with a tool-using alien culture since the discovery of the ruins on 4546b. First contact on 4546b led to the death of all but one member of the Aurora crew. First contact with spaceborne kharaa organisms led to the death of thousands of Mongolian colonists. First contact is dangerous. First contact may have consequences for the entire human species.

Proceed with absolute caution.
